Deck Builder Olathe

OIathe's Premier Deck & Porch & Builder Since 1997

DW Elite Decks has been building decks in Olathe since 1997. Our office and showroom are located in this sprawling suburb of Kansas City, and it's where our team of deck and porch builders proudly call home. We are honored to be the most well-established and prominent Olathe deck builder for almost three decades. Although impressive for a small business, it's a mere fraction of Olathe's historic accomplishments.

Kansas, Pawnee, and Osage tribes lived here in prehistoric times. After the Louisiana Purchase of 1803, frontiersmen moved into the Trans-Mississippi West. In 1870, the town became a second class city with a population of 2,045. During the same decade, the school for the deaf expanded, churches were built, a subscription library started, and the first city history was written. It’s possible that there aren't many deck builders in Olathe with specialized knowledge at this time. This could make it challenging to find the right person for the job.

In 1960, Olathe had a population of 10,978 and Overland Park became the sixth largest city in Kansas. The Shawnee Mission Post office was established, and King Radio moved to Olathe. The construction of I-35 was completed in Olathe in 1961, and John Anderson became governor of Kansas.

In 1970, Olathe's population was 17,917 and McDonald's arrived in the city. Johnson County recorded 220,073. In 1971, 18-year olds in Kansas were given voting rights and Santa Fe was widened to four lanes. Urban renewal persisted.
In 1980, Prairie Center and Tomahawk Elementary Schools were planned, while Olathe South High School was under construction. Milgram's grocery store opened in Town Square, and Crossroads Shopping Center opened in spring. Frontier Park, Oregon Trail Park, and Heritage Park were planned. Jack Nicklaus announced a 3,100-acre golf course and residential development northwest of Olathe.

In the 1990s, Olathe made significant improvements to its infrastructure. The city constructed an overpass at I-35 and 151st Street, and another at 119th Street. In 1996, Garmin International, a well-known technology company, moved their headquarters to Olathe. Additionally, the Great Mall of the Great Plains opened its doors in 1997, and a promising Olathe deck builder was founded in the same year. The area also saw the construction of new schools. In 1998, a delegation from Maebashi, Japan gifted cherry trees to Olathe.

Olathe hit a population of 100,000 in 2001. It was listed as the third "hottest" town in the central US by Money Magazine in 2004 and ranked 13th on its Best Small Cities list in 2006. The Olathe Community Center opened in July 2014, next to Stagecoach Park on Kansas City Road and Ridgeview Road.

Olathe is a thriving community that is growing both in terms of business and residential areas. While the city has undergone numerous changes over the years, one thing that has remained constant is the reputation of DW Elite Decks as the premier deck builder in Olathe. We're committed to maintaining our reputation and delivering the highest quality decks to our customers.
